Seven Oaks is a vibrant 55+ community that provides its residents with a plethora of opportunities for enriching the mind and body. Whether you’re after an active lifestyle or looking for a social event, these are the top clubs and activities in the community:

  • Book club

    Book clubs are a great way to connect with other seniors, share ideas, and dive into different genres. Seven Oaks has two book clubs: the first one meets on the 4th Thursday of each month while the second book club meets on the 2nd Thursday of each month. Regardless of which book club you join, you can expect a warm and welcoming environment.


  • Seven Oaks Garden Club

    The Seven Oaks Garden Club is a haven for gardening enthusiasts and those who want to grow their own food. Among the club’s many projects is the Friendship Rose Garden, which is maintained by the club’s dedicated members. The club also organizes various trips to local gardens, nurseries, and flower arrangement shows.

    The club holds lunch meetings during the first Wednesday of the month. Invited guests give a talk or a demonstration on a specific gardening topic.

  • Yoga, tai chi, and line dancing

    Exercise is important to maintaining a healthy lifestyle, no matter the age. For seniors, low-impact workouts are the way to go. Seven Oaks has yoga and tai chi classes designed to improve strength, flexibility, and balance. The community also has chair yoga sessions, which result in similar benefits as traditional yoga. For something more robust, If you’re after a workout with more movement, line dancing is open to all every Monday and Wednesday night.


  • Balance and stability training

    As seniors, maintaining balance is key to preventing falls, improving mobility and strength, and building overall confidence. The classes at Seven Oaks involve stretching and other exercises specifically designed to do just that. Classes are ongoing every Tuesday at the Seven Oaks Auditorium.


  • Sewing, quilting, and knitting

    Hone your needle art skills with Seven Oaks’ Needle Arts club. Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced needleworker, you’ll discover plenty of opportunities to learn new skills and meet fellow sewing, quilting, and knitting enthusiasts. The Needle Arts club meets at Seven Oaks Community Center’s Sewing/Art Room every Wednesday.


  • Pooch Pals Dog Club

    Connect with fellow dog lovers by joining the Pooch Pals Dog Club. Every third Thursday of the month, members and their four-legged friends gather at the northern end of the Community Center parking lot before heading out for a stroll around the area. Membership to the Pooch Pals Dog Club is free of charge.


  • Woodworking

    If you’re passionate about woodworking or even just curious about this particular craft, the Rancho Bernardo Woodcrafters Club can help you hone your woodworking skills. The woodshop’s inventory includes a 20-inch planer, 16-inch bandsaws, and two router tables. With the shop’s large collection of tools and equipment, you’ll have everything you need to complete your woodworking project.


  • Board games and card games

    There’s no better way to pass the time than with a board or card game. Aside from the entertainment and the mental stimulation that it offers, these games also provide opportunities for social interactions. And at the Seven Oaks Community Center, you’ll have plenty of board and card games to choose from. Among these are Bunco, Bridge, Rummikub, and Mexican Train.
